On Friday a further All Stars Information Evening will be taking place for Clubs across the county.

The additional evening, which will be led by Tim Masters who is the ECB Regional Head of Participation and Growth for the South West and Wales, will give those clubs who missed the roadshows at Exeter and Bristol last month the opportunity learn about All Stars Cricket.  It will also give those clubs who did attend the opportunity to hear more about the programme and ask any questions or raise any concerns that they may have about the initiative.

All Stars Cricket is a nationwide programme that is designed to inspire five to eight-year-olds to take up cricket and provide a great first experience of the game.

Putting fun right at the centre of this experience, All Stars Cricket aims to instill children with a lifelong love of our sport, enabling clubs to welcome new players, supporters and potential future volunteers.  In turn this will bring huge benefits to your club.   Any club who wishes to run the minimum eight-week programme will receive full support from the ECB and Somerset Cricket Board in the following ways:

This exciting new initiative has received the full backing of Somerset County Cricket Club.  CEO Guy Lavender said: “All Stars Cricket is an outstanding initiative and we as a Club are committed to supporting it in every way we can.  Encouraging young people to get involved in the sport is absolutely crucial and we will be working with Somerset Cricket Board to help ensure that local young people have a positive experience which will hopefully develop in to a lifelong love of the game.”
