Successful Christmas for our Catering Team

Whilst most people get some time off over the festive period and are able to relax with their feet up, Christmas is the busiest time of year for our Catering Team.

It’s all hands to the pump for Catering General Manager Sam Safe and her team as they work until the early hours of the morning to ensure that our Christmas Party Nights are a real success.

“Christmas was absolutely brilliant again this year,” said Sam.  “December is always extremely busy for us, especially now that the 1875 Club is available.  It’s a challenging time of year for us but it’s one that we all look forward to.  Being able to deliver so many high quality large events over such a short space of time is very rewarding.  I can’t praise my team highly enough.  Without them we wouldn’t be able to provide the high standard of service that we pride ourselves on.  From the management team all the way through to the pot washers, everyone worked their socks off to make sure that every single customer had a brilliant night.”

Executive Chef Simon Safe was also pleased by how the busy Christmas period went in the kitchen.  “It was really good from my point of view,” he said.  “The menu went down very well and the feedback that we’ve had has been extremely positive.  Catering for so many people each night is always a major test and puts a huge amount of pressure on the kitchen staff but as always every single person rose to the occasion and ensured that we delivered some outstanding events.”

The Club were also able to raise a sizable amount of money for charity during the course of our Christmas Party Nights as Sam explains.  “Each night we played a special game of Higher or Lower,” she said.  “We invited our party goers to make a small donation in order to play and the winner recieved cocktails for their table.  As a result we were able to raise around £1500 for the Make A Wish Foundation.  They are a superb charity and we are absolutely delighted to have been able to support them through the generosity of our 2016 party goers.”

Although it’s January preparations are already underway for our 2017 Christmas Party Nights as Sam explains: “We’ve got our first Christmas planning meeting next week and we’ve already been discussing a few ideas about how we can make 2017 even bigger and better!”
