Nearly 200 Members were our guests last night for our annual Long Room and 1875 Club Dinner.
Those present were treated to a superb three-course dinner as well as question and answer sessions with captains Chris Rogers and Jim Allenby.
Members spent the evening mixing with the whole Somerset squad and there was a special mention for James Hildreth who was celebrating his birthday.
Following the evening Director of Cricket Matt Maynard said: “Events like these are great. It’s important for the players and Members to spend time in each other’s company and tonight’s dinner allowed us to do just that. It’s been a dramatic week and tonight was a really nice way to cap it off.”
Sam McIntyre from the Club’s Commercial Team organised the event and was delighted by how well it was received. “Once again this dinner has been a real success,” he said. “Since its introduction in 2010 the Long Room has proved to be extremely popular with our supporters and the first year of the 1875 Club has also been a genuine success. I would like to thank our Long Room and 1875 Club Members for their continued support and hopefully this will act as the perfect send off for the players who are making the long journey up to Yorkshire this weekend.”
