12th Man competition winner has “a brilliant day”

Somerset’s recent Royal London One-Day Cup victory over Sussex was a memorable day for all those who were packed in to the Cooper Associates County Ground, but for one person in particular it was a day that he will never forget!

12 year old Archie Fairfax-Ross won our recent text competition and was therefore our unofficial 12th man for the day.

As well as meeting the players and having a tour of the ground, Archie was present at the toss, watched the match from the dugout with the first XI squad and was presented with a signed shirt by One-Day Captain Jim Allenby and man of the match Tom Abell.

Following his experience Archie said: “It’s been really good!  It was a great experience and I think the best part was meeting Tom and Jim and getting the shirt.  It was a brilliant day.”

Archie’s mum Karin said: “The Club have been absolutely fantastic with Archie.  He’s had a great time and we can’t thank Somerset enough.”
