Somerset enjoyed a six wicket victory at the end of a high scoring Second XI Trophy match against their Gloucestershire counterparts at Taunton Vale today that featured a century for Adam Hose and five wickets from Josh Davey.
After choosing to bat first Somerset were given a good start by openers Alex Barrow and Hose before Barrow was out for 26.
George Bartlett joined Hose but after making 31 at just less than a run a ball he was out and Tom Abell came into join Hose.
The opener was in top form and duly brought up his century but on 120 he was bowled by George Hankins, his runs coming from 116 balls and including 13 fours and one six.
Tim Rouse scored a brisk 26 off 19 balls before he was out which brought the big hitting Michael Leask to join Abell.
The fifth wicket pair upped the run rate as Abell scored 82 off 58 balls with 10 fours while Leask bludgeoned an unbeaten 70 off just 19 deliveries with four 4s and six 6s to see the hosts onto 368 for four off their 50 overs.
When Gloucestershire replied they were bowled out for 337 the pick of the bowlers being Davey with five for 63 while Leask ended with two for 24.
