On the final day of the Second XI Championship match at Taunton Vale Sports Club Somerset declared on their overnight total of 366 for six.
Both sides then forfeited an innings meaning that Gloucestershire require 367 for victory.
Gloucestershire made a solid start with Brandon Gilmour and Ian Cockbain putting on 80 for the first wicket. Gilmour was the man to go as he was clean bowled by Dom Bess for 59. Only one run had been added to the score when George Hankins was caught behind off Liam Redrup but Cockbain and Tom Smith ensured that the visitors had reached 97 for two at lunch.
After the break Cockbain was eventually dismissed for 64 to leave Gloucestershire 158 for three and then a middle order collapse saw the visitors slip to 195 for eight.
A ninth wicket stand of 71 gave Gloucestershire hope but the Somerset bowlers wrapped up the tail to dismiss the visitors for 271 as Somerset won by 95 runs.
Paul van Meekeren, Dom Bess, Tom Lammonby and Liam Redrup all took two wickets each and Alex Barrow claimed four catches.
Somerset take 20 points from the match and Gloucestershire take two.

Somerset resumed on 183 for three when play eventually got underway on day two of this Second XI Championship match at Taunton Vale Sports Club.
Rain prevented play until almost 4pm but Tim Rouse picked up from where he left off the previous evening as he made the three runs that he needed to reach his century. Alex Barrow made 53 before he was dismissed with the scoreboard showing 302 for four. He and Rouse had added 157 for the fourth wicket.
Rouse was the next man to go for a superb 175 as Somerset reached 325 for five. Josh Davey fell for 15 but Tom Lammonby and Michael Leask saw Somerset to 366 for six at the close of play.
Somerset began a three-day 2nd XI Championship match against Gloucestershire at Taunton Vale today.
Gloucestershire won the toss and elected to field and made an early breakthrough. Eddie Byrom was the man to go when he was dismissed without scoring to give Matt Taylor a wicket with the fourth ball of the match. Adam Hose was then joined at the crease by Tim Rouse and the pair put on 51 for the second wicket before Hose, who is captaining the side, was out for 28.
Unfortunately the rain began to fall and the players were forced to take an early lunch with the scoreboard showing 80 for two. Rouse had moved on to 29* with George Bartlett on 16*.
Rain continued to fall throughout the afternoon but following an inspection, play resumed at 5:30pm.
Rouse and Bartlett took the score to 145 before the latter was out for 36. By the close of play Somerset had moved to 183 for three with Rouse just three runs short of his century.
