Somerset claimed a three wicket win over their counterparts from Glamorgan in the Second XI Trophy at Taunton Vale Sports Club.
The match began at 11am and the visitors won the toss and decided to bat.
From the word go the Somerset bowlers dominated the Glamorgan batsmen who found themselves in big trouble at 42 for six but Jack Murphy and Owen Morgan put on 77 for the seventh wicket to give the score some respectability. Morgan remained unbeaten on 66 as his side posted a total of 180 all out.
Bobby Gamble was the pick of the Somerset bowlers as he claimed four for 39 whilst Josh Davey also impressed with three for 17.
Requiring 181 for victory Somerset made a strong start as Alex Barrow and Adam Hose put on 69 for the first wicket. Barrow was the man to go for 23. Hose followed shortly after for 38 and although wickets continued to fall, 26 from Eddie Byrom and and 21 from Brad Lynch steered Somerset towards the victory target. It was left to Dom Bess and Gamble to see the Somerset over the line for the loss of seven wickets.
