The Cooper Associates County Ground will be the venue on Friday when BBC Somerset Breakfast Show presenter Claire Carter attempts to cover the distance of the Somerset county border with the help of friends and listeners as part of Sport Relief 2016.
Sport enthusiast Claire will run part of the 286 miles on a treadmill, whilst show Producer Dean will be cycling on an exercise bike alongside her.
‘Claire Carter’s On the Edge for Sport Relief’ will all be taking place at the Stragglers Coffee House at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, the home of Somerset County Cricket Club.
Listeners are being urged to join them here at the ground to walk, run and cycle part of the way to help the pair cover the distance and raise some all-important cash for Sport Relief.
Claire is now more than ready for the challenge after recently being put through her paces by Somerset CCC Head of Strength & Conditioning Darren Veness.
This year’s fundraising effort will start live during Claire’s Breakfast Show and go on throughout the day with live updates. People can listen to her progress on BBC Somerset on 95.5FM, 1566AM, digital radio or online at bbc.co.uk/bbcsomerset.
A number of former Somerset players will be making appearances throughout the day as well, so make sure that you come along and show your support for this great charity!
The Stragglers Coffee House will also be screening the England v South Africa ICC World T20 match from 2pm so come on down, watch England and help support a very worthy cause.
