It’s not just about the cricket: Conferences

St Austall

It’s not just about the cricket here at the County Ground.

We are the perfect venue for conferences and meetings which was highlighted last week when Marcus Trescothick and Somerset Assistant Coach Jason Kerr were on hand to give the benefit of their expertise to a special event.

The County Ground, Taunton staged the annual St Austell Brewery Sales Conference on Thursday which was followed by a Kwik Cricket tournament for their sales teams in the Centre of Excellence on Friday. During the tournament Marcus and Jason spoke to the players and passed on some top tips to those present.

Somerset County Cricket Club Catering General Manager Sam Safe said: “It is an honour to hold such a prestigious event here at the County Ground. It is the second year that we have staged this conference and it is one of the highlights of the calendar. More than 100 delegates attended the main conference on Thursday and then were treated to a seven-course tasting menu with The Brewery’s Got Talent style entertainment in the evening accompanied by some of their famous products!”

Following the Kwik Cricket tournament Jason said: “There was definitely a wide range of talent on display and it was a pretty serious business! The most important thing was that everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.”

Sales and Distribution Director from St Austell Ian Blunt said: “We are indebted to our friends at Somerset CCC.  We are proud to be their main partner and it’s a privilege to be hosted in such magnificent surroundings as the Long Room. The food and hospitality was faultless and we all thoroughly enjoyed our workout in the morning to help blow away the cobwebs from the previous day!”
