All-rounder Craig Meschede will be leaving Somerset County Cricket Club ahead of the start of the 2016 season.
The 24 year old, who is now in the last year of his Somerset contract, will be joining Glamorgan where he spent last year on loan.
Somerset Director of Cricket Matt Maynard said: “At this stage of his career Craig feels that he needs to be playing First XI cricket every week and that is not something that could be guaranteed here at Somerset. He clearly enjoyed his time at Glamorgan last year and feels that they can offer him more First XI opportunities, which is obviously appealing to a young cricketer.
“It’s always hard when a player is coming to the end of his contract especially one who has come through the ranks, but we feel that this is the best move for both Somerset CCC and Craig”.
Somerset CEO Guy Lavender said: “Everyone connected with Somerset Cricket wishes Craig well for the next stage of his career. He has represented the county with pride and passion and I am sure that our supporters will give him a warm reception when Glamorgan visit us during the season.
