Both Craig and Jamie Overton played their part with the ball today as the England Lions opened up their tour with a win.
Both of the twins claimed wickets as England Lions overcame a United Arab Emirates XI by five wickets in Dubai.
England won the toss and elected to field and Toby Roland-Jones claimed an early wicket to leave the UAE on six for one. Jamie Overton then had Rohit Singh caught by Joe Clarke as the batting side reached 29 for two. Wickets continued to fall and Mohammad Shahzad was the only batsman to offer any real resistance as he made 46.
Jamie Claimed his second wicket when he had Mohammad Usman caught behind for 34 to leave the UAE on 162 for 6. 14 more runs were then added to the total before Craig Overton bowled Usman Mushtaq. The UAE eventually reached 210 for 9 from their 50 overs with Jamie claiming two for 46 from his nine overs whilst Craig finished with figures of one for 25 from his six overs.
In reply the Lions reached their total for the loss of five wickets. James Vince top scored with 88 whilst Tom Westley made 57* as England claimed victory with 48 balls to spare.
The two sides will meet again on Saturday
