Liam Redrup, who was awarded a Somerset Scholarship in the autumn after graduating through the Academy at the County Ground, is a member of the MCC touring side that is on a 12-day tour of Nepal.
The 19 year old fast-medium opening bowler, who attended King’s College and plays his club cricket for Taunton Deane, has been in touch with the Somerset CCC website.
Liam said: “It has been brilliant so far. It has been fantastic to surround myself with and experience different cultures. It’s not just about how these players go about their day-to-day lives but the way in which they play and the passion they show.
“For me it’s been nice to just start bowling again and play in different conditions with no pressure to win. My highlight so far was surprisingly losing the match against Pokhara Cricket Club. Seeing their celebrations and joy when they hit the winning runs was incredible and it kind of felt like we were inspiring a nation.”
Liam added: “I bowled someone first ball only for it to be a front foot no ball which wasn’t ideal. However, I got one wicket in the game and it was nice to just try and get some sort of rhythm back after a few weeks away from playing outside.”
